Most reports of a broken Temu code turn out to be a code that was never entered in the right place. The promo field does not live in the basket, and on some screen sizes it is collapsed behind a single line of text. Here is where it actually is.
On the Temu app
- Add every item you intend to buy. Minimum spend is checked against the finished basket.
- Open the basket and tap Checkout.
- Scroll to the section above the payment method. It is labelled Promo code or Coupon code depending on your app version.
- Paste the code and tap Apply.
- Read the order total again. If the number did not move, the discount did not land.
On the Temu website
- Open the basket and select Checkout.
- Look at the order summary panel on the right of the page.
- Open Apply coupon and paste the code into the field.
- Select Apply and confirm the total changed.
Copy the code, do not type it
Codes are strings of letters and digits with no meaning, which makes them easy to mistype and hard to proofread. Copying from a screenshot or a chat message often brings an invisible trailing space with it, and the match fails silently. Use a copy button:
One promotion per order
Temu normally allows a single promo code per order. It will happily sit on top of item-level discounts such as lightning deals, clearance prices and free shipping, but not on top of another coupon. Because Temu often pre-applies a small voucher from your account, the honest comparison is: remove the automatic one, apply yours, and keep whichever produces the lower total.
Check the total, not the message
A confirmation toast is not proof. The only reliable signal is the order total before payment. Make a habit of reading it twice: once after applying the code, once immediately before you pay, because changing the delivery option can occasionally invalidate a coupon that had already applied.
